2013 Hightlights

It's been an amazingly productive year for myself.  Thanks for coming along on the ride.  Here's a look at a couple of highlight projects from 2013.

Finished my 365

That's a lot of cutting to get 365 postcard sized pieces of paper.  That task of making a lil' guy everyday was the best of times and the worst of times.  Some days were a little difficult to get through, but I made it.  The writing component really opened the door to understanding who the lil' guys are.

That's a bunch of lil' guys.  365 to be exact.

500 Ted Portraits Postcards

Simple project, draw 500 portraits of lil' guys named "Ted" and send them out.  Bring a smile to someone's mailbox.  I can hardly believe I made 865 postcard lil' guys this year.  It was an honor to participate in the TEDxABQ event this year.

Postcards are still available.  Click here to find out how to get one.

"Idiodyssey"
Solo exhibition of Sculptures and Drawings
Opened April 12, 2013

Many of the lil' guys have found homes outside of the studio.  The rest have taken over our apartment. Thanks to everyone who made it out to see the show and those who have given a lil' guy a new home.

Adventures in animation.

I discovered chocolate moon.  It's closer than I thought.

Made my first (very) short film interpretation of "Waiting for Godot" by Samuel Beckett.

More animation is on the horizon.  Someone needs to get to chocolate moon and explore.

Hope you've had a wonderful 2013!
Looking forward to what 2014 has up it's sleeve.

365 Lil' GUy Portraits: Day 365

Introducing today's "lil' guy."

Fin

He may be the last.
But he's not the end.

My 365 Project Details:
 - Draw a "lil' guy" every day for the next year.
 - Color them when I can.  Ink and travel don't mix well.
 - Write something about each "lil' guy," but not too much.

Scott Krichau, sculptor, resides in Albuquerque, NM with fellow artist, +Carolyn Curtis and their 3 legged dog named Pabst.  Scott uses steel and paper to create his "lil' guys."  Documenting their continual evolution and trying to understand the idiodyssey they are on.
